Personal information:

            Grew up on a cotton farm in Canutillo, TX (20 miles north of El Paso TX)

            Married to fellow TAAA member Ruth V Gomez for 47 years

            Three sons, two grandsons and one granddaughter

Professional  experience:

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering – University of Texas-El Paso (1978)

Master of Science in Computer Engineering – University of Southern California (1981)

34 years as an Electrical Engineer – Hughes Aircraft Company – Ground Systems Group, Fullerton CA

        Communications Division – Secure Communications (Cryptography Engineering)

            Hughes Aircraft Company/Raytheon – Missile Systems Group, Canoga Park CA and Tucson AZ

        Computer Engineer on AGM-65 IR and Laser Maverick Missiles and on AIM-120 AMRAAM Air-to-Air Missile

        GPS Engineer on Excalibur XM-982 GPS-guided artillery shell and on multi-use RAPTOR GPS module

        Digital Design Engineer on various Research and Development projects

            Retired in 2012

TAAA member since 2015

            Past TAAA Board Member-At-Large,  Member of the TIMPA Planning Group,  Member of the TIMPA-16 16” telescope      enclosure and pad design and construction team, Assist at the TIMPA Dark Site with opening and closing the facility and     with various maintenance tasks

 Active in the Astronomical League – Have completed 23 telescope, binocular and naked eye observing programs

        Presented with the Master Observer Award in August 2025
